Western Australian videographer Dylan deHaas is no stranger to animal encounters, but even he was thanking his luck when he chanced upon a mother whale and her calf just 50 meters offshore.Dylan deHaas told Storyful he spotted the magestic pair while driving near Dunsborough in late October.“Just by chance I had the drone in the car from using it the day before,” he said. “I had only one battery left with 20 percent, so only had around five minutes’ fly time. I missed the first two shots when they came up for a breath, and this video is the last one I was able to capture. Staring at awe at my drone controller screen, I knew I had captured one of my most incredible whale videos.”Later on at home, deHaas watched the results again on a bigger screen. “It was even more special,” he said.
