Skiing on an erupting volcano certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted, but it wasn’t enough to deter a team of professional skiers recently, who glided where lava meets snow on the flank of Mount Etna.The beautiful experience was documented by Dario Teri, of Etna Summit Craters, and shows the daredevils making their way to the crater late at night on February 11.The skiers can then be seen enjoying the slopes, with brazing lava glowing in the dark.Teri told Storyful that Etna is one of the rare volcanoes where it is possible to ski “near a lava field.” The video was filmed observing safety guidelines, he said.According to local media, the Italian Civil Protection Agency nonetheless urged hundreds of curious explorers to stay out of the lava-flow zone due to safety concerns.
