Patients and medics left the Gaza European Hospital on Tuesday, July 2, following orders to evacuate the eastern part of Khan Yunis, although the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that the evacuation orders didn’t apply to the hospital.Footage posted by Quds News Network shows injured patients on hospital beds and wheelchairs outside the Gaza European Hospital.Other footage filmed by Palestinian journalists at the scene shows the courtyard of the hospital covered in plastic bags and litter.The Israeli military called on people in eastern Khan Yunis to evacuate from the area on July 1, after saying that rockets were fired at Israel from the location.The European Hospital is located in eastern Khan Yunis. Yet the IDF said on Tuesday that “the call to move toward the Al Mawasi Humanitarian Zone does not apply to the patients in the European Hospital or the medical staff working there.”UNRWA estimated that around 250,000 will have to flee Khan Yunis following the evacuation orders.
