Firefighters with the Colorado Springs Fire Department escorted Santa Claus to a local Ronald McDonald House to greet children and their families for a holiday event.In a lighthearted post on Facebook, the department said Engine 19 and Truck 19 transported Santa to give his reindeer a “much-needed night off.”According to a Facebook Post from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern Colorado, every child at the facility received a gift during the event on Wednesday evening.Ronald McDonald House Charities is a nonprofit that offers free or low-cost temporary housing and resources to the families of children receiving medical care away from home.
