Firefighters in Northern California saved a dog stranded on a ledge 20 feet below the top of a cliff in a complicated rescue that involved three agencies.The Susanville City Fire Department said that the Susan River Fire Protection District and Cal Fire first arrived on scene to assess the dog’s situation at Pigeon Cliffs on February 22.They came to the conclusion that a rescue “could not be performed with personnel and equipment on scene” and requested that a firefighter from the Susanville City Fire Department be dispatched to retrieve the pooch.Video here shows the firefighter being lowered using a rope system and securing the pup; both are then lowered down the cliff.The Susanville City Fire Department reported that the dog was then transported to an animal hospital for evaluation, where it was determined that it was uninjured.
