People were seen waving Hezbollah flags as those displaced by conflict were returning to south Lebanon on Wednesday, November 27, following a ceasefire agreement between the militant group and Israel. This footage was captured by journalist Mostafa Ghandoor who
said tht it showed people returning to the town of Ghaziyeh.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Israeli forces struck Ghaziyeh on Tuesday, prior to the ceasefire. South Beirut was also heavily bombarded.Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati
thanked Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron for their contribution to reaching the agreement, which Mikati
described as “a fundamental step towards establishing calm and stability in Lebanon and the return of the displaced to their homes and cities.”Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
said that the length of the ceasefire would depend “on what happens in Lebanon.”“We will enforce the agreement and respond forcefully to any violation,” Netanyahu said. “If Hezbollah violates the agreement and tries to arm itself, we will attack. If it tries to rebuild terrorist infrastructure near the border, we will attack. If it launches a rocket, if it digs a tunnel, if it brings in a truck carrying rockets, we will attack.” Credit: Mostafa Ghandoor via Storyful
