A Colorado resident caught a shocking moment on camera when her family’s dog was attacked by a stag in their own backyard in Castle Pines, a suburb of Denver.Footage filmed by Tamar Peister shows the moment Luke, a Bernese mountain dog, is attacked by a male deer during rut season.The family can be heard screaming in horror in the footage.Peister said that she was filming the “large buck” in her yard, when Luke went out to the garden and was “immediately and viciously attacked.”Luke had to get stitches and medication for the deep cut caused by the attack, but is now doing fine.Peister was later interviewed by CBS about the experience, and she said that “the wildlife is beautiful, but we just have to be really careful.” Credit: Tamar Peister via Storyful
