Timelapse footage shows tropical storm Carlotta forming into a Category 1 hurricane over the eastern Pacific Ocean overnight into Friday, August 2.Video posted to X by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) shows the storm develop across the region.The storm was expected to strengthen further over the coming days but would remain over the ocean, CIRA said in the post.According to the National Hurricane Center, Carlotta sustained winds increased to near 85 mph (140 km/h) and a “gradual slowdown” was forecasted into next week.
