A band of lake-effect snow created near-whiteout conditions in parts of western New York overnight into Friday, December 13, prompting multiple travel advisories in the region.Footage posted by the New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA) on Thursday night shows snow and icy conditions along Interstate 90 at exit 55, Erie County. “The heavy snow is creating whiteout conditions. Our crews are continuing to plow and treat the roads.
