Protesters picketed outside New York University and The New School on Friday, May 3, hours after the New York Police Department arrested dozens of people and cleared out protest encampments at both campuses, local reports said.In a post to X, NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry said NYU and The New School both requested assistance in dispersing the “illegal encampments.” According to NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell, 56 people were arrested Friday morning.Photojournalist Brendan Gutenschwager captured footage of protesters outside NYU’s John A.
