A man dressed as Santa Claus went scuba diving in the Florida Keys to spread holiday cheer to “marine inhabitants and scuba divers” in the region, footage released on Friday, December 20, shows.Footage released by the Florida Keys News Bureau shows Spencer Slate, the owner of Captain Slate’s Scuba Adventures, diving in Santa garb in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary in Key Largo. Slate can be seen swimming by schools of fish and other marine life.The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary protects the continental United States’ only contiguous coral barrier reef and the waters surrounding the Florida Keys island chain.Slate went scuba diving as Santa in the Florida Keys during the 2023 holiday season as well.
