Maryland Sen Chris Van Hollen called the “deliberate withholding of food” in Gaza a “textbook war crime” during Senate proceedings on February 12.Van Hollen was speaking during a debate on US foreign aid to Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine.“Kids in Gaza are now dying from the deliberate withholding of food. In addition to the horror of that news, one other thing is true – that is a war crime. It is a textbook war crime. That makes those who orchestrate it war criminals,” Hollen said.He continued to call on President Joe Biden to take action to allow food and water into the Gaza Strip.“First and foremost, the president must demand that the Netanyahu government immediately allow more food and water and other lifesaving supplies into Gaza and make sure it reaches the children and other people who are starving. Including in the north,” Van Hollen said. The Senate was expected to pass the aid package during a final vote on Tuesday. Credit: C-SPAN via Storyful
