Whiteout conditions were seen in Oswego County, New York, as a lake-effect storm swept through the region on Monday, February 17.Video captured by Richard Hulburd, otherwise known as @weather_buffalo, shows the wintry conditions in the towns of Mexico and Parish.Hulburd shared the footage to X and wrote of how intense the conditions were. “I’ve been chasing lake effect snow for 20 years. Today featured some of the craziest conditions I’ve ever seen off Lake Ontario,” he said.The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of wind gusts up to 40 mph and snow accumulations between 10 to 18 inches.
