An artistic fire station employee painted a stunning mural of a firefighter for a media event in Bakersfield, California, footage released on Thursday, June 13, shows.Footage filmed and posted to Facebook by the Kern County Fire Department (KCFD) shows Katelyn Hinkle, a Fiscal Support Technician for KCFD, painting a detailed chalk mural of one of KCFD’s deputy chiefs. The mural depicts a firefighter in bunker gear grasping onto a railing as a fire is burning in the background.“The glow of the fire serves as a reminder of the challenges they [firefighters] face daily, often putting themselves in harm’s way to protect others,” Hinkle told KCFD.KCFD says that the mural took 17 hours to complete.
