A man has been arrested by UK National Crime Agency (NCA) officers investigating gangs who organise migrant boat crossings in the Channel.The 38-year-old, who claimed to be an Iraqi national, was detained on suspicion of facilitating illegal immigration to the UK on Sunday morning, May 5, in Preston, the NCA said.The arrest is linked to two small boat crossings from France to the UK in November and December 2023, the agency said.The NCA said the man was suspected of being a facilitator for migrants wishing to travel from Turkey to the UK, advertising people-smuggling services on social media.
