A fight broke out during a council meeting in Ankara, Turkey, on Thursday, November 7, due to a disagreement over the cost of Republic Day celebrations.Tensions flared following reports the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Council had allocated 69 million Turkish Lira for a concert during the October 29 Republic Day festivities.There were also reported allegations that 71 million Lira was set aside for a performance by rock band Mor ve Otesi in May, fuelling outrage as some critics questioned the ethics of spending that amount of money during a period of economic hardship.A livestream from the council shows members shouting, shoving one another and others trading blows.
