A reporter at the scene said arrests were being made after protesters attempted to prevent the removal of migrants from a London hotel on Thursday, May 2.According to the Telegraph, protesters slashed tyres of the bus and placed electric bikes under the front and rear wheels.Video by LBC reporter Charlotte Lynch shows officers carrying a man into a police van as others hold back protesters. Further video showed police forcing their way through line of protesters at the entrance of the bus. “Arrests being made now,” Lynch said on X.A Home Office representative told the BBC “asylum seekers are being moved into alternative accommodation to reduce costs on the taxpayer”.Local reports said the bus was due to take migrants to the Bibby Stockholm barge.Asylum seekers could “make representations if they believe they are unsuitable to be moved to the Bibby Stockholm,” the Home Office spokesperson said.According to the Telegraph, migrants taken to the Bibby Stockholm would not be prospective Rwanda deportees.
