The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched a probe to determine how a Southwest Airlines passenger jet ended up flying unusually low over a residential suburb of Oklahoma City early on Wednesday, June 19, local media reported.Southwest Airlines flight 4069 was flying from Las Vegas to Oklahoma City when it flew as low as 500 feet above homes in the city of Yukon, west of Oklahoma City, just after midnight on Wednesday morning, according to The Oklahoman which first reported the incident. The sound of the aircraft was loud enough to wake up several residents of Yukon, KFOR reported, and sparked a low-altitude alert at Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport, prompting air-traffic control staff to contact the pilots. After the pilots were alerted to their low altitude, the Boeing 737 quickly climbed to over 1,000 feet above ground, then landed safely at the airport a few minutes later. This footage, captured by Yukon resident Andrew Gabel’s home-security camera, shows the aircraft flying low over the area at 12:08 am Wednesday.
