Severe storms brought rain and lightning to southeast Texas early Friday morning, May 3, as excessive rainfall threatened flooding across the region.Footage taken by @Sebdo12 shows a close-up lightning strike he witnessed from his home in The Woodlands, an area north of Houston, around 4 am.“Closest strike I’ve witnessed. Also the first time lightning made me jump,” he wrote on social media.According to the National Weather Service (NWS) as of 9:06 am Friday, between 2 and 4 inches of rain had already fallen, with additional amounts of 1 to 2 inches expected. “Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly,” the NWS said.
