At least five people died and 49 were unaccounted for following the collapse of a building under construction in George, South Africa, on Monday, local authorities said on Tuesday, May 7.Footage released by George Municipality shows the ongoing rescue work at the site on Victoria Street.The multi-story building under construction collapsed at 2:09 pm local time on Monday, the municipality said.A total of 75 workers were on site at the time of the collapse. Along with the five injured, 26 had been rescued with various injuries.Five of the 26 people rescued had since died.On Tuesday morning, 49 people remained unaccounted for.The cause of the collapse was not reported.
