activated by the National Fire Agency shortly after the crash.Citing fire officials, local media
said 177 people were confirmed dead and two were rescued as search efforts continued.According to the
Yonhap News Agency, the incident was believed “to have occurred during fuselage landing due to landing gear failure” caused by a “bird strike.”“Smoke came out of one of the plane’s engines and then it exploded,”
