A former member of staff for an ex-Tory MP has decided to continue his political life in boozy fashion, aiming to down a pint in all 650 UK parliamentary constituencies as part of a campaign to highlight the plight of Britain’s pubs.Jay Chan has been charting his progress on TikTok, quaffing his way through his first 10 constituencies.Chan was a staffer for Marco Longhi, who was the member for Dudley North until the last election.His says his campaign is about “raising awareness and supporting British pub heritage and culture.”The British Beer and Pub Association said over 500 pubs closed in 2023 alone, and warned a similar figure could be reached in 2024.
