Firefighters were seen clearing mud and gravel off roads in northern Italy on Monday, July 1, after heavy rain caused landslides and severe flooding in the region the weekend prior.This footage was captured by Italy’s firefighting and emergency response organization, the Vigili del Fuoco, who said that it shows firefighters clearing gravel and mud from roads in Piedmont.The Vigili del Fuoco said on Sunday that they had conducted at least 80 rescue operations due to the extreme weather.Local officials said on Monday that the Civil Protection Department was working to determine an initial estimate of the damage caused by the extreme weather.
