A wildfire
burning in Washoe County, near the California-Nevada border, reached 674 acres in size on Monday, August 12, a day after it started, fire officials
said.The fire, initially named Quilici fire before being
renamed Gold Ranch fire, began south of Verdi, in Nevada’s Washoe County on Sunday, and was only eight percent contained as of Monday evening, according to
