Thousands or people are seen bathing in Uttar Pradesh, India on January 13 for the Mahakumbh Mela festival, held once every 12 years. Crowds gather at the Triveni Sangam, where the rivers Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati intersect. According to Hindu Tradition, bathing at the site washes away all of a devotee's sins and will free them from the cycle of rebirth. Hundreds of millions of people across India are expected to attend.
