Nashville Zoo celebrated the birth of an adorable Tamandua pup weighing nearly a pound and measuring 16 inches long on February 12. This is the zoo's first successful tamandua birth in over 5 years, making the pup the third Tamandua in the zoo's care. Nashville Zoo actively contributes to Tamandua conservation efforts in their native range and, with this birth, continues its commitment to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Southern Tamandua Species Survival Program.
