Vermont House Rep Mary Morrissey
apologized on the house floor on Monday, June 17, after being caught on video pouring water into a colleague’s tote bag on at least two separate occasions.Footage released by Democratic Rep Jim Carroll shows Republican Rep Morrissey pouring water from a glass into a bag hung up on a rack in a hallway on two occasions, with the videos dated April 23 and April 26.Carroll captured the videos using what local newspaper Seven Days
described as a “spy camera.” The outlet was the first to report on the incident.Carroll
told the Associated Press the situation was “relentless,” and said his bag was soaked a couple of times per week in January and February, before it began to happen almost daily.“I am truly ashamed of my actions,” Morrissey said in her apology Monday, according to
