A 16-year-old teenager was rescued from a 50-foot-deep vertical mineshaft in Placer County, California, on February 10. The teenage boy and a group of friends had rappelled down the vertical shaft to explore, but on the way back up the rope broke and the teen fell down to the bottom. Dramatic footage released by CAL FIRE on February 15 captured the daring rescue.
