A depression in the Atlantic Ocean strengthened into a tropical storm on Friday, September 13, and is expected to move further west through the weekend, the National Hurricane Center said.This satellite imagery shows the storm’s development west of northwest Africa, between September 12 and 13.There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect as of 3 pm UTC on Friday, according to hurricane officials.
