A gray squirrel received a helping hand from a woman in British Columbia as it tried to tear some material from a scarecrow to take back to its nest.Footage by Chrissy Chin shows the squirrel pulling on the piece of fabric at her property in Langley. The critter struggles to yank the piece off the scarecrow, so Chin kindly helps out, and watches on as it scurries back to the tree it has taken up residence in.Chin told Storyful that she and her family first encountered the baby squirrel “about two months ago” after it had been pulled out of the nest too early by a cat.She said that she tried to return the squirrel to its nest, but it kept following her, so she bottle fed it for two weeks before releasing it, under the advice of a wildlife center“When we released him we thought that was it,” she told Storyful. “He would be gone and maybe we’d see him around.”“But to our surprise the next morning he was at our back door waiting to come in, " she said, adding that it’s been the same “every day for the last two months”.Chin said that the squirrel, who she calls Samuel, is “incredibly friendly” and “loves affection”.
