Missouri authorities said they were responding to multiple crashes as cold, Arctic air swept across the US Midwest on Thursday, December 22, bringing snow and high winds that reduced visibility and made for dangerous travel conditions.This footage posted by Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) Troop D shortly before 12 pm shows a line of vehicles being rerouted away from a crashed vehicle on Interstate 44 in Lawrence County, just south of Stotts City. MSHP said eastbound lanes were closed at exit 38, where the video was shot, and asked drivers avoid the area if possible.Later, the Missouri Department of Transportation said a multi-vehicle crash on I-44 in Laclede County had prompted the closure of eastbound lanes.
