Kharkiv College Dormitory Partially Destroyed by Russian Drone Strike

A college dormitory in Kharkiv city was struck by a Russian drone and partially destroyed overnight into Tuesday, August 1, Governor Oleh Synyehubov said.The three-story building in the city’s northern Saltivka district was hit around midnight and caught fire, he said in a Telegram post. The top two floors of the building were destroyed but no one was injured.The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) posted video of the firefighting operation.Mayor Ihor Terekhov said at least three Shahed-136 drones hit the city on early on Tuesday, with another explosion in the Shevchenkivskyi district. He told state broadcaster Suspilne that the third drone hit a road.A 63-year-old security guard was injured by the strike in the Shevchenkivskyi district, which hit a sports complex, Synyehubov said.
