A koala joey at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney has emerged from his mother’s pouch after eight months of being hidden from view.The male joey, named Sky, was born to parents Wattle and Thunder, and is the second joey to emerge at Taronga Zoo this breeding season.Sky has been nicknamed “pouch potato” by his keepers, according to the zoo, but is starting to become more and more curious about the world outside his mother’s pouch as the days go by.For now, Sky is still hitching a ride on his mother’s back, but his keepers expect him to explore his surroundings on his own in the coming weeks.
