Minnesota Deputies Take 'Polar Plunge' at Special Olympics Fundraising Event

Sheriff’s deputies in Onamia, Minnesota, plunged into icy-cold water on March 11, to raise money for the Minnesota Special Olympics.This footage, released by the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office shows officers jumping off a boardwalk into the cold water of Mille Lacs Lake.According to the Polar Plunge’s official Facebook page over 1,000 participants from Buffalo, Eden Prairie and Mille Lacs, raised $316,000 for the Special Olympics Minnesota.“We’re so inspired by the many Minnesotans who are helping make our great state more inclusive for people with intellectual disabilities,” the organization said on Facebook.
