Mom, Daughter and Dog Rescued From Icy Minnesota Lake

A sheriff’s deputy and members of the public rescued a mother, daughter, and their dog after all three got into trouble on an icy lake in eastern Minnesota on Thursday, April 13, according to local officials. The Chisago County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said the women and her daughter were trying to rescue their dog, Blue, who had fallen through, when they themselves began struggling on the ice.The “determined trio” managed to make it to a nearby canoe and all three were pulled to dry land “by some good neighbors and a deputy,” the sheriff’s office said. The CCSO reminded residents to be careful near the ice.“But if you end up in a pickle, we’re one call away. And if you’re in the area of Franconia/Scandia, we may tap the help of these two,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “This mom/daughter made one heck of a rescue team!” Credit: Chisago County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
