Residents in northwestern Australia were
warned that Tropical Cyclone Ilsa was expected to make landfall late Thursday, April 13, or early Friday, with wind gusts powerful enough to lift trampolines and caravans.The storm, expected to strengthen to Category 3, was forecast to bring “widespread rain and storms” and winds in excess of 90-100 km/h within the coming days,
according to Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology (

BOM said the cyclone was forecast to make landfall as a Category 4 system somewhere between Broome and Port Hedland in Western Australia late Thursday or early Friday.“Wind gusts in excess of 250 kilometers are possible and winds of this strength have the ability not only to bring down trees and power lines but lift items from your yard and home – caravans, trampolines,” a
