A snake decided to join a woman for a dip in the pool at a home in Slidell, Louisiana.Video by Thomas J Collins Jr shows his wife Charlotte unbothered as the snake swims up close to her.“Summer time and the living is easy, snakes are jumping into my pool,” Collins Jr sings.Collins Jr told Storyful he and Charlotte both grew up in the company of snakes and see them almost daily at their home.“This harmless eastern ribbon snake poses no danger to humans, and we both recognized the species immediately upon noticing him in our pool,” Collins Jr said.“As soon as I stopped filming, he made a U-turn, crossing over Charlotte’s lap, and exited the water to her right.”According to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the state is home to 47 native snake species but only seven of those are venomous.
