A tornado-warned storm knocked down trees in Johnston, Rhode Island, on Friday, August 18.This footage tweeted by @Eddy46295688 shows a fallen tree on Johnston’s George Waterman Road. Other debris is also seen strewn across the roadway.The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a tornado warning for parts of northern Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts on Friday. The mayor of Johnston, Joe Polisena Jr, confirmed a tornado touched down in the town, but the NWS had not confirmed it by the time of writing.Earlier on Friday, tornado sirens went off in nearby Providence, previously verified footage showed.
