'Yak Whisperer' Deputy Credited With Finding Owners of Wandering Animals in Rural South Dakota

Sheriff’s deputies tracked down the owners of two yaks found wandering private property in Johnson Siding, South Dakota, according to a Facebook post on Monday, May 23.Pennington County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post on Monday that they corralled the yaks – one male and one female – into a nearby fenced area while they tried to locate the owners. The female yak was aggressive, the sheriff’s office said.A few hours later, it posted video and an update saying that the yaks were “safe with their rightful owners”.
