Three men have been charged in the alleged theft of 27 guns from a museum in Lithgow, New South Wales, local police said.Footage released by New South Wales Police shows the break-in and theft early on Sunday, August 25.The break-in took place at around 3:30 am on Sunday, police said, with the suspects escaping in a silver Toyota Landcruiser which was later found burned out.The stolen weapons were worth more than AU$200,000, detectives were told, and could be made operational.Thirteen of the 27 firearms were seized during a series of searches on September 5, police said, and three men, aged 46, 41, and 21, were arrested.The Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum said on Facebook that it had suffered “immeasurable” damage in the break-in and would not be reopening in the near future.Investigations were ongoing, police said.
