Cars were seen in snowdrifts as
arctic cold gripped Buffalo, New York, and other communities along Lake Erie on January 27.The National Weather Service
said that an arctic cold front was forecast to impact the region through Wednesday, bringing the potential for snow squalls across the eastern Great Lakes, New England, and the northern Mid-Atlantic states.The NWS
warned travelers of “extremely dangerous” snow-covered roads and near-zero visibility.“If you encounter a snow squall while driving, pull over and wait it out. There is no safe place on a highway during a snow squall,” the NWS
