Snow and winds were expected to hit parts of upstate New York on Wednesday, January 29, the state’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) said.“Widespread snowfall and strong winds up to 55 mph will affect the state today,” the department wrote on X. “Several Warnings & Advisories are in effect.”The department also said that “scattered snow squalls are expected to develop.”By 9 am, the snow was already coming down heavily in the northern Adirondack Mountains, according to a video taken by X user Tony Portelli.According to a local news report, the Adirondacks were expected to be one of the hardest-hit areas by the snowstorms.The DHSES warned: “Be cautious when traveling, as conditions can change rapidly with near-zero visibility.” Credit: @TonyDocPotter via Storyful
