A Wisconsin man was delighted to find his security camera was at the perfect angle to record what was being reported as some space debris burning up in the night sky on January 28.Tom Purdy, whose device captured this footage of what he called “space junk,” told Storyful that he’d not seen anything like it before.“I thought it was cool, I was happy the camera happened to be facing that direction,” he said.Fox Weather said the debris was spotted above Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan.Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer who regularly comments on such events, said it appeared that Starlink 5693 had “reentered over the southern Wisconsin/Michigan” area.Starlink-5693 had a predicted reentry time approximating to that of the footage provided by Tom Purdy.
