A dust storm slammed Burning Man in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert on Monday, September 2 – the final day of the festival – forcing departing attendees to wait several hours in line before they could leave the area.This footage from Brian Monash shows people struggling against strong winds as they try to secure a large tent.Monash leads Camp NYC Deli, a group of “burners” who traveled from New York City. He told Storyful they “served 5,000 free meals to burners during the event and provided a public 80-person air-conditioned circus tent for people to sleep in during the days.” On Monday, the tent became their “refuge from the storm,” Monash said.A second video shows a flag fluttering in near-whiteout conditions along the “exodus line,” where waits of more than 5 hours were reported by Burning Man organizers.The flag belongs to NYC Community Container, an organization that transported New Yorkers’ belongings to the festival grounds, Monash said.
