Fu Bao the Panda Makes First Public Appearance in China

Fu Bao, the panda who became super popular in South Korea, where she was born in 2020, made her first public appearance since being transferred to China on Wednesday, June 12.Dozens of visitors and media outlets waited for Fu Bao at the Wolong National Nature Reserve, according to the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.Footage from the center shows Fu Bao exploring her new enclosure and indulging in some bamboo shoots.Fu Bao, which means “lucky treasure” in English, was born in July 2020 in South Korea after her parents were sent over from China, Weibo reported.Fu Bao gained an online fanbase in South Korea after videos of her bonding with her zookeeper went viral, according to the South China Morning Post.
