Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner paid a visit to firefighting crews in El Dorado County, in Northern California, on August 29, to learn about a program that provides young incarcerated people with the opportunity to serve as firefighters.According to CAL FIRE’s Amador-El Dorado Unit, the reality TV stars visited Growlersburg Camp #33, which is jointly operated by the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (CACorrections) and CAL FIRE.“The fire camps play a crucial role in supporting various government agencies during emergencies such as fires, floods and other disasters,” CACorrections said.The program “is the first of its kind allowing 18-25 year old incarcerated people to get out of prisons and into a firecamp to serve the community,” Kardashian wrote in a post on Facebook.Images shared by CAL FIRE shows Kardashian and Jenner posing with inmate firefighting crews and staff from Growlersburg Camp #33.Kardashian has been actively working on criminal justice over the past few years, as a recent meeting with US VP Kamala Harris and previous visits to California prisons illustrate.
