The Iranian President died after a helicopter crashed on May 19, the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) said.According to Iranian semi-official media, the President “met with an accident while serving and performing his duty for the people of Iran and was martyred.”Footage published by the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) shows what they described as the helicopter wreckage, found by a volunteer drone team of the Red Crescent Rescue Organization.Other videos show crews searching the area in East Azerbaijan Province in foggy conditions.In a Telegram post on Monday morning, the IRCS said it had discovered the location of the crashed helicopter.“No signs of the helicopter’s occupants being alive have been observed,” the post read.The helicopter was carrying Raisi and other Iranian officials back from a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the border between Iran and Azerbaijan.
