Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a person suspected of defacing a Black Lives Matter street mural in Santa Cruz, California, on Saturday, July 29.This footage released by the Santa Cruz Police Department shows the Center Street mural and the moment the suspect dumps a bucket of blue paint on it, police said.The mural had been repainted in June after it was vandalized in 2021, local news reported.“While we are continuing this work, we are sharing the photos and video we have now with hopes that someone in the community will know this person and come forward so that they can be held responsible,” said the Santa Cruz Police Department after releasing the footage in August.
