Attendees began to leave the Burning Man festival, which saw
thousands stranded when a thunderstorm caused muddy conditions at the weekend, after the driving ban was
lifted on Monday, September 4.The festival
told drivers to “take it slow” as the area was “still muddy” and “difficult to navigate.”Festival organizers
urged attendees to consider leaving the event on Tuesday, rather than Monday, to “alleviate large amounts of congestion”.Approximately 64,000 people remained on site as of midday on Monday,
according to the festival. Credit: ©2023 Maxar Technologies via Storyful
