The World Food Programme (WFP) said it was providing aid to displaced Palestinians who were returning home in various parts of Gaza following the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.Footage filmed by the WFP shows widespread destruction in Rafah, Palestinians in Nuseirat making their way to northern Gaza, and food parcels being distributed.One young Palestinian man in the footage says he’s “excited” to see his room and to clean his home with his family when he gets to northern Gaza.Antoine Renard, the WFP Palestine Country Director, said in other footage distributed to media that the WFP was “providing hot meals for those who can’t cook, cash to help people buy food and support the struggling economy. Wheat for bakeries to make bread, food parcels for families, high-energy biscuits for people that are crossing from south to north, and clearing roads so humanitarian aid can get to those in need.”Thousands of displaced Palestinians started making their way toward northern Gaza on the morning of Monday, January 27, after the Israeli military allowed people to return to the area for the first time since the beginning of the war.
